An African-American woman accused of sending racist, threateningletters to other minority students at north suburban TrinityInternational University pleaded guilty to felony disorderly conductThursday.
Alicia Hardin, 20, of the South Side, sent the letters in April2005 to convince her parents that the Bannockburn school was adangerous place so she could return to a Mississippi school sheattended previously, authorities alleged.
Karen Levi, Lake County assistant public defender, noted thatHardin submitted an Alford plea -- under which a defendantacknowledges there is enough evidence for a conviction withoutadmitting wrongdoing.
